Be careful that the watchtower isn't sniffing around your parents to see what they can get from them. They pretend to care while money is in their best interest. Hopefully you have other siblings that will help look after them. Really sorry to hear what your going through and wishing you nothing but the best. Take care of yourself and let your parents know that you love them no matter how they treat you. It's not their fault.

Please help. I am losing the plot.
by wordyword inafter being a witness for 40 years, i now find myself disfellowshipped.. i have had a number of doubts for a few years now, but still feel as if i'm living my life in the "t minus " to armageddon spector.. my parents are in their 80's and my dear mother is in very bad health.
i was allowed to pop through - about once a month to make sure my parents were ok and for them to see their grandchildren.
this all ended after the july watchtower article and especially since the district convention - with all the "counsel" on associating with disfellowshipped family members.. around 6 weeks ago, my dad asked me point blank why i wasn't trying to get reinstated.

Who comes before the Messiah?
by label licker indeuteronomy 18:15 talks of a prophet who would be raised up like me(moses);then, malachi 4:5 says look!
i am sending you elijah before the coming of the great day of jehovah and john 1:19 the people are asking john if he is the christ, or is he elijah, or is he the prophet.. we know christ is coming again.
but according to malachi, elijah has to come before the christ.

Thank you Myelaine. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Elijah still alive after the windstorm. At 2 Chronicles 21:12-15 it reads Elijah and the letter he wrote expressing Jehovah's condemnation which took place later on.
From what I'm trying to put together here from my studies is Elijah and now you have me studying again. Thank you for that scripture at Rev 8:8.
Again, Transhuman68, you also make a good point with Enoch and Moses. That Jehovah took them but they couldn't have gone to heaven since Jesus hadn't descended first.
Hebrews 11:35 = 1 Kings 17:17-24 + Hebrews 11:5 = Genesis 5:24 all of which are a great cloud of witnesses!
Sure do hope we're around to see how this will all play out but one thing is for sure, I really do believe that god will give everyone a fair chance to know the whole truth and then we will be allowed to decide wheather we follow him or be destroyed. Unlike the witnesses who think they have the authority to go ahead of Jesus and judge people without letting them learn the accurate knowledge first. That accurate knowledge comes when the two witnesses come and then Jesus. In this way I do feel very bad for the witnesses. Not the society.

I was making a comparison with the two witnesses and the Messiah who are coming in the end as to who they MIGHT be in the greek scriptures to the hebrew scriptures. That's all:) Wasn't questioning the validity of Mary's virginity. Wasn't there.

Deuteronomy 18:15 talks of a prophet who would be raised up like me(moses);then, Malachi 4:5 says look! I am sending you Elijah before the coming of the great day of Jehovah and John 1:19 the people are asking John if he is the Christ, or is he Elijah, or is he the prophet.
We know Christ is coming again. But according to Malachi, Elijah has to come before the Christ. It was as though John and others knew this for why ask if he's the Christ or Elijah or the Prophet?
Now go to Revelation 11:5,6. Read up on what the two witnesses can do in the end. Fire issues from their mouth. Didn't Elijah shut off rain from the heaven, having fire fall from heaven in answer to prayer, called down fire on King Ahaziah's captain and his 50 men and parted the Jordan?Revelation 11:6 they have authorities over the waters to turn them into blood. Didn't Moses turn the Nile River into blood?
I'm just saying before the end comes, the two witnesses have to appear for three and a half years and then the Christ comes who will do the judgeing. The two witnesses have to die and then Harmegeddon( the seventh trumpet is blown). According to the society, they say they are the two witnesses yet harmegeddon never came right after like the scriptures state in Revelation 11.
And wasn't it Matthew 17:3 where it was Elijah and Moses who were with Christ in the transfiguration? Unless I would have read the hebrew scriptures there would be noway I could of understood the two witnesses in Revelation. God, did the WTBTS mess those scriptures up!

by respectful_observer ini'm hoping those of you in the jwn community may be able to help me out.

Splash, I was at a jw wedding one time where a publisher had to be scraped off the floor he was so drunk. The po looked at him and said don't think this won't be a disfellowshipping charge. What got him off was he said he had taken his meds and didn't know you couldn't mix alchohol with them. I always thought that if I were ever in those circumstances that's the card I would play. Unfortunately, the only time I drink is at judicial committees.

I feel it the most deceiving religion on earth! I have to say satan is really good at what he does. First the lovebombing and then the kick out the doors if you don't devote your whole life to them. Oh, and don't ever ever question their doctrines.

Here's to LoisLaneI know what it feel like when you find lost loved ones. After my father died we were going through pics of my mom and her siblings and all their names were on the back of the pics. One by one we found the last two who were stil alive and flew out west to meet them. So many stories of my mom as a girl and so many relatives. Unfortunately, when they found out we were jw's at the time they wanted nothing to do with us. Oh well.
TotallyADD enjoy you new journey with your new family. Your in for a blast and LoisLane you are our family, never forget that ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can the elders stop you from entering the kingdom hall if
by label licker inyou continue to talk to the witlesses after being disfellowshipped.
we were at a funeral recently and disfellowshipped hubby would talk to anyone who who would come up to him and talk.
he said he wasn't going to be rude and that the rule of not talking to df ones don't apply to him.

Blondie, I so agree with you on that. The maturity of these men who are the shepherds of this congregation explains alot as to what we have seen and experienced. That very same elder was on the platform making fun of a girl hitchhiking using the word to describe her as looking real "skanky". A majority of the audience laughed yet after the meeting I asked him if he witnessed to her since who needs the truth more? He just stared at me with a blank look like I was from outerspace.
When I brought my disabled sister to the meeting one time both him and his wife stood five feet away stareing at her but wouldn't say hello. My mom use to see the same thing so she would stay at home with the two kids. I understand the reactions of some but will never tolerate them laughing and making fun of ones who can't help themselves. And that's our fill-in circuit overseer/elder.
